THE STUDIO
-
What type of studio is Northside Movement?
We are more than a “gym”.
We are a community-driven training experience designed to elevate the human experience.
We build people up so they have the mind, body & energy to help them live a better life.
-
What programs do we offer?
We currently have Group, PT On Demand (Semi-Private PT) and Personal Training training programs running at the studio.
-
How are we different from normal gyms?
Many traditional gym’s are designed to provide access to equipment. We have created a training experience that has the necessary support, personalisation and expertise to help a variety of people not only train, but learn to love the training process.
-
What are our hours?
We have different training options happening 7 days a week, with many of our morning group sessions kicking off at 5:15am for the early risers, all the way through to evening sessions that run to 7pm. Outside of that, our Personal Training program is based on availability of trainers and your preference for training times.
-
How long are the sessions?
The majority of our sessions are between 45-50 minutes long, with some being slightly shorter or longer depending on the class.
-
How can I start?
For anybody that is new to the facility we offer a 14 & 28 Day Introductory Training Pass which gives you the chance to complete our initial 1 on 1 “getting to know you” & movement screening session.. along with gaining access to our training programs to get a feel for the space, the training and community!

Easy Does It (No Contract / 4 week cancellation notice).

Can I do both programs?
Yes! We have many Northsiders that have opted for a hybrid membership (Combination of PT On Demand & Group Access) so they get the best of both programs.
Great for additional accountability, personalisation and enhancing training results.
-
How is the Group Program different from a standard Group Fitness program?
With the owners clocking up over 25 years of collective experience in the industry, we’ve recognised the need for structure and cohesiveness when providing group training options.
This has led to a program that provides clearly defined training purposes on different days and the ability to craft a training experience to meet different needs and goals.
We’ve combined a variety of training frameworks and principles to create a program designed to keep people strong, fit and moving incredibly well at any age and any stage.
-
What classes do we offer?
Our Group Program has a variety of sessions in it, with the primary focus being all about Strength.
With many various strength classes on the menu.. we also provide plenty of variety with niche, complementary classes such as Pilates, Cycle, Boxing, Run Clubs, Team, Sweat & Move Well!

You have some pretty rad Google Reviews. What else do you do that makes Northside the place to be?
We recognise that exercise and training is only ONE part of the picture and there is plenty more that goes into making a training experience enjoyable, motivating and fun.. All necessary for the longevity of our aspirations to train regularly. Outside of training we do regular social events, fitness challenges, awards ceremonies, monthly check ins, workshops, hikes and plenty more!
THE TRAINING
-
What type of training do we do?
We are specialists at creating a better level of General Physical Preparedness (GPP).. A fancy term for having a really good base of fitness. When building our base, we prioritise strength training to build structural integrity alongside other fitness attributes such as mobility, stamina, power, body control to improve your overall physicality. This allows us a better level of physicality as our norm and the ability to specialise when and if required, such as for a half marathon or an endurance cycling event.
-
But I’ve only ever done HIIT? Isn’t it all about the CALs?
Whilst many magazine headlines will have you believe that HIIT will transform your body into a human version of a unicorn.. We have a very different conversation with our members. As we’re dealing with mostly Adults aged 30 and up.. We prioritise maintenance of strength and muscle and build out athleticism around this through various cardiovascular work. Outside of this we then teach people how to manage their energy systems, well being through small improvement to their daily habits to get them feeling fabulous permanently.
-
What if I can’t keep up?
The important thing to remember with your training is that it is simply about you. We have members that have done over 2000 sessions with us and often people that are starting from scratch. So rather than worrying about keeping up with different people of different training timelines and experiences, we ask that you focus on your journey and building a better level of fitness for your own self improvement.
-
Will I get injured?
Helping our members execute training effectively and safely is what we do. We help people develop a better understanding of their own physical capacity so they can navigate training intensities and control the experience. We then assist by monitoring and refining technique when required and using both regressions and progressions to make the exercises we are doing suitable for where you are at.
-
How often should I train?
The golden question and this is always different for everybody. In your first session we talk about how often CAN you train and what do you want to get out of it. Once we understand this we can help create structure and realistic expectations based on your availability and goals.
-
Still got questions? We've got answers.
We’re available and would love to chat. Get in contact with us and we can chat about your situation and goals.
