Mike Singline

Position: Owner & Head of Banter.

Mike in 5 words: Dad, Bike, Coffee, Outdoors, Sun.

One half of the Northside Movement Ownership Group Of Legends (it’s only Nat and Mike but apparently they came up with this name) and more importantly, head of banter at the studio.. You’ll usually find Mike talking, playing table tennis or eating.. And sometimes all of these things at once.

With over 15 years in the industry, a bachelor's degree in Health Science and an extensive and growing list of personal development courses that has taken him all around Australia and to the USA to develop his coaching skill set, he definitely likes to talk the talk (Seriously, where’s his off button?).. But fortunately he walks the walk.

After spending a big chunk of his teenage years with Chronic Fatigue that completely shook up his high school years, it was from this experience that lead him down the path to wanting to learn the ins and outs of building a stronger and more resilient body so that he could keep himself in a better physical condition and inspire others to do the same.

Fast forward many years and 3 x ACL Knee Reconstructions, 1 x Single Level Spinal Fusion in the neck, some broken ribs (hot tip.. Don’t stand on bins to make yourself taller) and enough moments of overcoming significant endurance challenges such as riding from Adelaide to Melbourne or completing the 3 Peaks Challenge (235km / 4000m+ elevation bike ride) six times. This desire to build and to overcome is still stronger than ever.

Now with the fast growing Ella (3 years old), the improved vitality, focus, energy and strength to just keep going which have all been developed through building a better routine and training consistently is proving to be an absolute necessity to keep up with the spontaneous dance parties to Emma Wiggle and everything else that is thrown your way as a Dad.

And WHY did I want to become a coach?  For Mike it’s simple.  Having lost his capacity to compete and play, let alone the ability to walk to the bathroom or sit up out of bed for far too long in his earlier years, he wants to share the transformative magic of building a training routine in a supportive environment.  EVERYONE should be fortunate enough to reap the benefits that come with training, building, overcoming and giving people the opportunity to do just that in a space where they can truly belong, is everything Northside is about.
