Pineapples.
I was out on the bike on Sunday and deep into the long (and hot) training ride..
it was time for the absolutely necessary coffee + cake stop to refuel.
One iced almond latte and a hemp see bar. Yep.. wild.
And as I’m waiting for these delicious survival snacks, guzzling as much water as one could guzzle..
I jumped onto ABC News to see what’s up.
Trump taxing anyone and everyone.
Extreme heat for Victoria whilst incredibly heavy downpour pummels Northern Queensland.
And apparently MAFS still has a fan base.
Standard stuff.
And then one article caught my attention.
Fresh pineapple sales flatline as consumers avoid inconvenient fruits.
Yep.
The delicious pineapple is being neglected because people now find it inconvenient to cut it up.
WTF??
That’s what the fruit for those playing at home.
How much further can the never ending push towards efficiency, simplify and “do less” era go??
Paul Taylor wrote a fabulous book that highlights the decline of human’s physicality and wellbeing in his book Death By Comfort.
It’s interesting to think that with all the tech, knowledge and resources available that.. well.. we’re kind of falling apart on many levels.
And the potential solution?
Embrace discomfort.
And start chopping your bloody fruit up.
